Replacing missing teeth with a new removable partial denture can very effective in regaining the function of a full smile. While your new teeth are artificial and therefore not vulnerable to tooth decay and bacteria, they will last longer if you show them proper care on a daily basis.

When you receive partial dentures at JDA DMD, LLC, Dr. John Aston will provide customized information on how to clean and care for them. You may find it helpful to use apply denture adhesive before inserting your denture so that it is well secured each morning and doesn’t allow food particles to fit between the appliance and your gums.

Rinse off your partial denture when you remove it for the night so that there are no lingering food particles or denture adhesive, and then gently brush the appliance using non-abrasive cleaner and a soft-bristled toothbrush so that it’s free of bacteria.

After storing the appliance, brush and floss your remaining natural teeth, remembering to floss around your gum line and the teeth on each side of your gap so that your gums stay in good health and can provide a stable foundation for your partial denture.
